Make minor repairs

It’s best to have visible minor defects repaired. These minimal investments will pay for themselves when you sell your home. Examples include cracked floor joints, holes and cracks in the plaster, a leaky tap, broken light bulbs and old silicone on the bathtub rim.

Make sure all rooms are tidied up when prospective buyers come for a viewing, including the garden, garage and storage room, as buyers will want to look at everything. Let in as much light as possible, add some flowers or plants and switch on extra mood lighting. Turn on your radio and hide the smell of any pets with a scented candle.
